About GBE

Established a reputation for exceptional delivery

Since its formation in 2002, GBE has established a reputation for exceptional delivery on some of London’s largest and most complex construction projects. We pride ourselves on our engineering led, proactive approach to project delivery. We challenge ourselves to bring a fresh approach to each and every project.

GBE have grown steadily over the past 18 years into one of the most innovative companies in the London building services market.

We continue to improve and develop our in house delivery and engineering capabilities. These are the driving force behind our ongoing project delivery success.

Our Ethos

Work Ethic. Attitude. Challenging the status quo.

The founding principle of the company was to develop a business that would bring a fresh and innovative approach to the building services industry.

In-house team

We place a large emphasis on internal delivery rather than subcontracting. We have an in-house team of plant movement operatives, BIM/CAD operatives and a fleet of delivery lorries along with our engineering and prefab capabilities.

Quality

Growth is driven by the capability of the people within the business and the quality of projects/clients available – not based on turnover targets.

Engineering

GBE places a heavy emphasis on engineering – Continual professional development of our people is strongly supported. The business runs it’s own engineering development programme which trains and upskills graduate and trainee engineers.

Health and Safety

An open and honest culture. Expectation of excellence driven from the top down.

GBE has a health and safety culture with an expectation of excellence driven throughout the business from the top down. This is reflected in our health and safety performance record.

2019 – Over 200,000 hours worked no reportable or lost time injuries.

5 Years without a reportable accident was achieved in 2019 –Total hrs in excess of 600,000.

Extensive use of offsite fabrication significantly reduces working hours in high risk areas.

Environment and Sustainability

Our prefabrication model significantly reduces carbon footprint.

Consolidation of our deliveries removes 600 deliveries per year from London roads. Bulk trading agreements with our primary suppliers further reduce material deliveries.

GBE has a specific emphasis on lean design, Reducing waste in overdesigned schemes.

Typical examples that GBE would address:
Diversity and Inclusion

Together we thrive

The M&E and construction industry is badly in need of fresh blood and new brains. GBE prides itself on continuing to bring people into the industry from a myriad of backgrounds and experience levels. When looking for these new recruits we actively drive to attain a high level of diversity and inclusion within our growing workforce.

Building a Diverse Workforce

GBE understands that a diverse workforce brings together unique perspectives, experiences, and skills. By actively seeking out individuals from underrepresented groups, GBE has successfully cultivated a team that reflects the vibrant diversity of London. Our employees encompass a wide range of gender identities, ethnic backgrounds, ages, abilities, and cultures, resulting in rich tapestry of talent.

Inclusive Hiring and Promotion Practices

GBE has implemented inclusive hiring and promotion practices to ensure equal opportunities for all. Our recruitment process is designed to identify and attract candidates from diverse backgrounds, actively combating unconscious biases. Moreover, GBE prioritizes the professional development and advancement of underrepresented groups within the company, nurturing a pipeline of future leaders who mirror the diversity of the communities we serve.

Creating a Supportive Work Environment

At GBE, we believe in fostering a culture of inclusivity and respect. We have implemented comprehensive diversity training programs to enhance awareness, challenge biases, and promote understanding among our workforce. Additionally, we offer mentorship programs, affinity groups, and employee resource networks to provide support, encouragement, and a sense of belonging to all employees.

Supplier Diversity and Local Engagement

GBE recognizes the importance of supporting diversity throughout the entire supply chain. We actively seek out and partner with suppliers and subcontractors who share out commitment to diversity and inclusion. By engaging with local communities and diverse businesses, we contribute to the economic growth and social fabric of London while providing opportunities for a broader range of stakeholders to thrive.

Let’s build the future together

Using the skills and expertise of the people within our business to deliver exceptional projects. Developing ongoing and robust relationships with our clients.
